About AI

Last updated

Yamine uses AI to help interpret requests, explain public place information and read material you deliberately submit. The result is a starting point you can inspect, correct and choose to keep.

Place understanding and search

Guide and Orient features combine authored, public-source and provider information. An AI request may contain the public place or area, your search words and the relevant public evidence. Public area material can be reused for other people looking at the same place. Your private library is not added to that public context.

Ask about a passage or place

Ask sends the words you submit, any selected public passage, recent question and answer turns, the language and relevant guide or Orient text. Asking how to do something in Yamine, from Help here, sends your question, the name of the part of the app you are on and Yamine’s own help notes about what its controls do; nothing from the page you are on, your account or your records. Those notes are a help subset, not a complete list of what the app can do. The app does not attach your account or session identifier, device identity, precise device position or private library. The conversation lives in the active page and is not saved to your account or public reading banks.

Checking current sources is a separate action. It may pass a search request to an external search service. Source links help you inspect what was found; a citation does not prove that an answer interpreted it correctly.

Sources, booking pages and receipts

Reading source media sends the selected image, screenshot, clip or extracted text and any notes you provide through OpenRouter. Booking text and travel email text are parsed within Yamine. A selected scanned booking page or receipt can be sent to a model to transcribe or propose expense fields. Unreadable parts remain uncertain; check names, branches, dates, currencies and amounts before you save them. A booking document is not automatically evidence of payment or confirmation.

Providers and data handling

OpenRouter routes requests to configured models, including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude. Where TypeSafe Jev is enabled for simple nearby searches, it receives only the search words and display language. Ask, uploaded images and clips, and scanned booking or receipt requests ask OpenRouter for zero-data-retention routing and deny data-collecting model endpoints; a request fails if an eligible endpoint cannot serve it. Those settings do not cover the router account’s optional logging of requests and replies, its separate security and billing records, or optional search tools. Media acquired from public source links uses the configured model provider’s own data policy, which can include retention. We do not claim that all AI processing has the same retention rules.

You choose what to submit. Avoid including personal information that the task does not need, and use only material you are allowed to provide. Optional feedback may also be reviewed by the development team’s AI tools, as explained before sending it.

Review and act

AI can misread a source, omit a condition, invent an explanation or become outdated. Review the source and check high-consequence information with the relevant official authority or professional. Corrections and uncertainty belong with the answer or imported item. Use Feedback to report a mistake and include the passage or screenshot you want the team to examine.
